Yutong Bus, one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, has reported a strong year of growth and innovation in 2024. The company’s sales of passenger coaches reached 46,918 units, marking a year-on-year increase of 28.48%. The surge is attributed to advancements in electrification and intelligent networking, alongside the company’s expanding global presence.
The company strengthened its international reach with significant developments, including the launch of its dual-mode transmission (DMT) hybrid system and new C-series coaches. These innovations debuted at major events in Mexico, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia, alongside sustainable transportation models like the DMT Hybrid H10 and the Van 6.
Global expansion and innovation
Yutong furthered its “glocal” strategy in 2024, opening its first new energy KD kit factory in Qatar. This brought the number of its localized production facilities to 16 worldwide. The company has also expanded its international network, highlighting its manufacturing expertise and advancements in new energy technology.
In 2024, Yutong secured high-profile international orders, reflecting its growing influence in sustainable transportation. Major deliveries included:
- 214 E12 buses to Chile
- 250 E12 buses to Greece
- 46 airport shuttle buses to Spain
- 600 ZK6116HG buses to Mongolia
- 274 hybrid buses to Mexico

Performance in extreme conditions
Yutong buses demonstrated resilience in harsh environments. The E18PRO achieved a range of 374 km at -25°C in Kazakhstan, while the U12 became the only Chinese new energy bus to operate within the Arctic Circle. Meanwhile, the E11PRO performed efficiently in 60°C ground temperatures, consuming just 0.74 kWh/km. Finland’s winter also posed no challenge to Yutong’s T15E, which delivered a range of 609 km at -20°C.
In Australia, the C12E completed 555 km on a single charge, underscoring the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of electric vehicle performance.
Commitment to social responsibility
Yutong has also prioritised corporate social responsibility in its operations worldwide. In March, the company provided vital aid to flood-affected regions in Kazakhstan, offering essential supplies and vehicle component replacements.
In Brisbane, Yutong supported Green Travel Week, promoting environmental awareness and receiving recognition from the AWCPD for its efforts to support women and children. In the UK, the company partnered with local dealer Pelican to launch a zero-carbon forest initiative.
A promising future
With cutting-edge advancements in new energy technology and a clear commitment to sustainability, Yutong is poised for continued growth. The company’s developments highlight its ambition to remain a leader in global bus manufacturing.
