Eaton has announced a significant expansion of its aftermarket product offerings in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, introducing a comprehensive suite of power connections, protection solutions, and low-voltage technologies. This strategic move aims to cater to the rapidly growing market for electrified vehicles, positioning Eaton as a key player in this burgeoning sector.
Tim Bauer, Vice President of Aftermarket at Eaton’s Mobility Group, highlighted the company’s enthusiasm about the expansion. “We are excited to expand our aftermarket portfolio in EMEA with the addition of our suite of power connections, power protection, and low-voltage technologies to serve a wide range of electrified vehicles,” Bauer stated. “Electrified vehicle growth in the region is outpacing most other global regions, so we see a great opportunity to supply our customers with the wide product range and solutions they need.”
Among the key additions to Eaton’s portfolio is a state-of-the-art DC/DC converter. This device is designed to step down voltage from a 48-volt system to 24 volts, and then further convert it to 12 volts for use in low-voltage systems. This technology ensures that critical equipment, such as antilock brakes and power steering, remains operational in the event of a power failure.
Eaton is also introducing its innovative eyelets, which are designed to withstand severe vibrations and offer a long service life. Made from high-grade materials, these eyelets are lightweight yet durable, meeting the demands of vehicles operating in challenging conditions across the EMEA region.
The company is also rolling out its stamped battery terminals, which provide enhanced energy cycling performance compared to traditional diecast or forged terminals. These terminals offer weight savings and are compatible with various battery post configurations including SAE, DIN, IEC, and JIS.
Another notable addition is Eaton’s Bussmann® series EVK fuses. These fuses are rated for up to 1,000 volts of direct current (VDC) and 600 amps, making them suitable for high-powered electrified vehicles. They are designed to manage and protect the charging systems of electric commercial, passenger, and high-performance vehicles, including sports cars and large sport-utility vehicles.
Eaton’s multiplexed Vehicle Electrical Center (mVEC) is also making its debut. The mVEC provides economical CAN network oversight for high-power circuits, featuring a 200-amp rating. It offers OEM circuit protection and switching functions, with circuit status and control accessible through J1939 CAN open messages.
Additionally, Eaton’s OMNEX Trusted Wireless™ remote control products are designed to manage heavy machinery in harsh environments, such as mining, construction, agriculture, locomotive, and marine markets. These remote controls offer reliable, precise, and durable performance, enhancing operational efficiency in challenging conditions.
