Audi A3 allstreet to feature Falken’s high-performance tyres

Audi’s new A3 allstreet will be fitted with high-performance Falken tyres, the manufacturer has confirmed. The crossover model, part of Audi’s popular A3 family, will come equipped with Falken AZENIS FK510A AO (Audi Original) tyres. The tyres, available in several sizes, have been supplied to the Audi production facility in Ingolstadt since April 2024.

The AZENIS FK510 series is available in three key sizes for the A3 allstreet: 205/55R17 95W XL, 225/45R18 95W XL, and 225/49R19 93W XL. Known for its performance capabilities, the tyre model has been widely praised, particularly for its ability to handle challenging wet conditions. This reputation has made it popular with both SUV drivers and owners of more standard models.

The Falken AZENIS FK510 has already earned high marks in independent tests. AUTO BILD magazine, one of Germany’s most influential automotive publications, gave the tyre an “exemplary” rating in its 2022 summer tyre test. The test examined 11 high-performance tyres, and the Falken tyre impressed with its strong all-round performance, particularly in safety tests such as wet and dry braking.

In wet braking conditions, the tyre demonstrated a stopping distance of 47.9 metres from 100 km/h—just two metres behind the top performer in the category. Its handling on water-soaked surfaces also stood out. On a wet circular track, the tyre completed laps less than a second slower than the leading competitor.

Aquaplaning resistance, a key factor in wet weather safety, is another area in which the Falken AZENIS FK510 excels. The tyre achieved a float speed of 98 km/h on wet surfaces, proving its capability in challenging driving conditions.

The superior wet-weather performance of the AZENIS FK510 is largely attributed to Falken’s innovative 4D NANO design technology. The tyre’s rubber compound has been engineered to provide exceptional grip on wet surfaces, while “blade sipes” – small incisions in the tread – help break up the water film, preventing aquaplaning and ensuring consistent contact with the road.

Beyond its safety features, the AZENIS FK510 is also designed to be durable. The rubber compound is highly resistant to wear, and Falken’s “Adaptive Constant Pressure” technology distributes pressure evenly across the tyre’s surface. This not only extends tyre life but also contributes to improved fuel efficiency. Low rolling resistance is another feature of the tyre, helping to reduce fuel consumption during driving.

Christian Stolting, OE Sales Director at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH, expressed confidence that the tyre would meet the expectations of Audi drivers. “The AZENIS FK510 boasts outstanding driving dynamics, high safety standards and durability, all made possible by innovative technology. We are convinced that this product will fully meet the high standards of the drivers of the Audi A3 allstreet.”

The Falken AZENIS FK510 is available in a wide range of sizes, from 17 to 22 inches, and can accommodate speeds of over 300 km/h.
