Continental Tires has introduced its latest innovation, the ExtremeContact XC7, marking a significant advancement in tyre technology. Launched as the first product line to feature both ContiSeal and ContiSilent technologies in all sizes, the ExtremeContact XC7 promises enhanced safety and comfort for drivers.

The ExtremeContact XC7 incorporates Continental’s pioneering ContiSeal Self-Sealing Technology, which provides proactive safety by sealing punctures up to 5 mm in diameter. This self-sealing layer, which remains effective across temperatures from -35°C to 70°C, ensures that up to 80% of punctures are addressed instantly, allowing drivers to safely reach a repair shop without immediate concern.

In addition to its safety features, the ExtremeContact XC7 is designed to meet the evolving mobility needs of consumers, particularly in the burgeoning Chinese market. The tyre’s introduction aligns with Continental’s commitment to addressing regional demands through innovation and collaboration. The tyre is being exclusively launched on Tuhu, China’s largest online auto retail platform, which boasts over 100 million subscribers.

The ExtremeContact XC7 excels in wet performance, a crucial feature given the frequent rainfall in many parts of China. Its design includes Aqua Channel Advanced surface sipes that enhance water drainage and maintain grip on slippery roads. The tyre’s Zig-Zag serrated grooves and Blade Edge Pattern work together to reduce water film and improve wet grip, contributing to overall driving safety.

Noise reduction is another key focus of the ExtremeContact XC7. The tyre integrates Continental’s CSS 2-in-1 Noise Reduction Technology, combining ContiSilent’s polyurethane foam with ContiSeal’s sealant layer. This dual approach effectively absorbs cavity noise and reduces vibrations, resulting in a quieter and more comfortable driving experience.

Available in sizes ranging from 17 to 20 inches and offered in 34 variations, the ExtremeContact XC7 is designed to fit a range of luxury cars and SUVs. The tyre underscores Continental’s dedication to enhancing driving experiences through cutting-edge technology and responsiveness to market needs.

Tolga Mutlu, Head of Product Management for Continental Tires APAC, highlighted the tyre’s impact, stating, “The ExtremeContact XC7 represents a leap forward in driving safety and comfort. By integrating our advanced technologies, we are addressing both safety and noise concerns in one comprehensive solution.”

Continental Tires continues to lead in the development of innovative solutions that cater to the diverse needs of global consumers, solidifying its position as a leader in the tyre industry.
