Kia India has officially commenced mass production of its latest SUV, the Syros, at its Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh. The new vehicle, tailored specifically for Indian consumers, is set to redefine standards in design, technology, and spaciousness.
Unveiled in December 2024, the Syros has already garnered significant attention, recording over 10,000 pre-sales. The production launch was marked by a ceremony attended by senior executives, including Ho Sung Song, President and CEO of Kia Corporation, and Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director of Kia India.
Speaking at the event, Mr Song expressed optimism about the model’s prospects. “We’re delighted with the interest our customers in India have already shown in the new Kia Syros SUV. This positive response reflects Kia’s focus on customer-centric innovations and value-driven features.”
Designed for Indian Consumers
The five-seat Syros has been designed following extensive research into local market trends, ensuring it meets the specific needs of Indian buyers. The SUV blends Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, combining bold aesthetics with practical features to create a family-focused, futuristic vehicle.
Inside, the Syros maximises space and comfort with its advanced functionality and refined design. The model introduces first-in-segment rear sliding, reclining, and ventilated seats, offering superior convenience. Other standout features include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a Harman Kardon premium audio system, and over-the-air software update capability.
Cutting-Edge Technology
The Syros boasts over 80 connected features, ensuring seamless integration with modern lifestyles. Safety is a major focus, with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) providing 16 autonomous safety features. These include Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and a 360-degree camera with Blind View Monitor.
Additionally, the Syros comes equipped with 20 standard safety features, such as six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, and Hill Start Assist. These enhancements aim to provide maximum protection for both drivers and passengers.
Market Launch
Sales of the Kia Syros in India will begin on 1 February 2025, with customer deliveries to follow shortly after. The company also plans to expand the model’s availability to other regions, including Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East.
