ArrowXL, the UK’s largest two-person home delivery specialist, has announced a major investment in its operational fleet with the acquisition of five new yard shunters. The vehicles, delivered to ArrowXL’s Worcester depot, are set to be distributed across the company’s UK sites as part of a strategic move to boost efficiency and scalability within its logistics operations.
The new fleet additions are equipped with cutting-edge features designed to enhance manoeuvrability and operational flexibility, crucial for meeting growing customer demand. Each truck, liveried in ArrowXL’s distinctive colours, is tailored for optimal performance in the fast-paced world of logistics.
ArrowXL has partnered with William Gilder Group, a Gloucestershire-based haulage contractor, to commission the bespoke vehicles. The specification process involved consultations with ArrowXL’s drivers to ensure the new trucks would meet the specific needs of the company’s operations. Key additions to the vehicles include both external and internal lighting, enhancing safety during night-time operations and ensuring visibility in busy depot environments.
Kevin Bliss, Transport Department Manager at William Gilder Group, expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration, saying: “It was a pleasure to work with the ArrowXL team. They had a very clear idea of what needed to be included on the trucks, which made it easy for us to ensure they were fit for purpose. We look forward to working with ArrowXL in the future to ensure their fleet infrastructure continues to support their growing customer demand.”
The new investment underscores ArrowXL’s commitment to maintaining its leading position in the logistics industry, providing reliable and efficient services to its customers. Ian Pearson, Procurement Manager at ArrowXL, highlighted the importance of these acquisitions in ensuring the company’s continued growth. “As a customer-centric business, our investments are always driven by improving service quality. These new vehicles will strengthen our ability to handle increasing volumes of deliveries effectively and will help us maintain our position as a leader in the logistics industry.”
The move is part of a broader strategy by ArrowXL to modernise its fleet and enhance operational capacity, as the company looks to meet the demands of the growing e-commerce market. The new yard shunters will play a key role in streamlining logistics processes, ensuring quicker turnarounds and smoother operations across ArrowXL’s nationwide network.
With the UK’s home delivery market continuing to expand, ArrowXL’s investment in its fleet infrastructure is seen as a crucial step in ensuring the company can meet the evolving needs of its customers while maintaining the high levels of service for which it is known.
