Hyundai Motor Company and Toyota Motor Corporation have unveiled plans to host a joint motorsport event, the ‘Hyundai N x TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Festival’. The event is scheduled for October 27, 2024, at Everland Speedway in Yong-in, South Korea. The event will highlight high-performance motorsport vehicles, showcasing both Hyundai N and Toyota GAZOO Racing’s prowess on the track.

The ‘Track Day’ will feature an array of rally cars and high-performance models from both brands, providing attendees with an immersive experience into high-speed motorsport. Hyundai N’s World Rally Championship (WRC) models will be on display, including the i20 N Rally 1 Hybrid and i20 N Rally 2, driven by Hyundai Motorsport drivers Thierry Neuville, Dani Sordo, and Andreas Mikkelsen. Hyundai TCR drivers Norbert Mischelisz and Mikel Azcona will also be present, demonstrating Hyundai N’s production vehicles like the IONIQ 5 N and Elantra N.

Toyota’s GAZOO Racing division will present its GR Yaris Rally 1 Hybrid, GR Supra, GR86, and several rally cars. Notable Toyota drivers include Takamoto Katsuta and Jari-Matti Latvala. The event will also feature nine-time Japan Rally Champion Norihiko Katsuta.

Looking to the future of motorsport, Hyundai will showcase innovative models, such as the IONIQ 5 N Drift Spec, hydrogen-powered N Vision 74, and the record-setting IONIQ 5 N TA Spec. Toyota will bring its hydrogen combustion engine AE86 H2 Concept and the liquid hydrogen-powered GR Corolla.

Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung and Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman Akio Toyoda, known for his participation in motorsport under the name ‘Morizo’, will attend the event, highlighting the significance of this collaboration in the evolving world of motorsport.
