Yorkshire-based automotive retailer JCT600 has marked a significant milestone in its 78-year history with a record investment in the redevelopment of its Brooklands dealership in Leeds. This ambitious project brings together three of the world’s most prestigious luxury car brands—Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce, and Bentley—under one roof for the first time in the UK, creating a unique destination for British ultra-luxury vehicles.
The transformation has resulted in the creation of state-of-the-art multisensory showrooms, showcasing a total of 40 luxury vehicles and supercars. This redevelopment, which began in the summer of 2023, has also generated five new jobs in the area. The idea for the project was first conceived in 2018 when JCT600 welcomed Rolls-Royce to its portfolio, but the launch was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The new facility was finally completed just over a year later.
JCT600’s Brooklands site has been part of the company’s history since 1999, undergoing refurbishments three times but never experiencing a complete overhaul until now. The upgraded facility is designed using cutting-edge digital and audio-visual technologies to provide customers with an immersive experience. Large-format LED screens, surround sound, and even bespoke fragrances contribute to a theatre-like atmosphere, enhancing the luxury experience.
In addition to the showrooms, the dealership features 18 service bays, including a specialised electric vehicle repair area and a state-of-the-art wheel alignment bay, reflecting the evolving needs of the automotive market. John Tordoff, executive chairman of JCT600, expressed pride in the development, noting the historical significance of the Brooklands name to the family business. “This unique luxury vehicle destination underscores our commitment to the brands we represent and our loyal customers,” he stated.
The redevelopment places a strong emphasis on energy efficiency, with significant enhancements made to insulation, heating, and cooling systems. Mark Taylor, property director at JCT600, described the project as one of the largest and most complex the company has undertaken, expressing excitement about the facility’s opening.
Brooklands’ showrooms reflect the latest corporate identities of Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce, and Bentley. The Aston Martin showroom incorporates design elements from the brand’s flagship location in New York, featuring marble walls and natural stone floors. The Rolls-Royce space boasts a captivating kinetic lighting display and a unique ‘cabinet of curiosities,’ while Bentley’s showroom design highlights the brand’s signature craftsmanship through the use of luxury materials.
Kristian Keighley, head of business at JCT600 Brooklands, noted the immediate positive reception from customers. “The ultra-luxury sensory experience we have created is generating considerable excitement, allowing customers to explore the best of three distinctive brands in one location,” he remarked. With its convenient location near the motorway network, JCT600 Brooklands aims to be a flagship destination for luxury automotive enthusiasts.
Founded in 1946, JCT600 has grown to become one of Yorkshire’s largest family-owned businesses, representing 18 leading car brands.
