McLaren Senna XP: First Ever Model Sells for Record Price

SBX Cars has completed the sale of an incredibly rare 2019 McLaren Senna XP, a vehicle widely believed to be the first ever McLaren Senna produced. The sale of this ultra-exclusive hypercar highlights the continuing allure of limited-edition, high-performance automobiles among wealthy collectors.

The McLaren Senna XP is one of only 10 prototype vehicles produced by the British manufacturer as part of the car’s factory validation process. Its rarity, combined with the fact that it is likely the very first unit to roll off the production line, has cemented its status as a true automotive gem.

The car, finished in a striking Victory Grey with McLaren Orange accents, closely mirrors the model unveiled by the company at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, where it made its world debut. It is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine capable of producing a staggering 789 horsepower, making it a true track-focused street car. The low mileage of just 75 kilometres (47 miles) adds to its rarity and appeal.

SBX Cars, a Los Angeles-based luxury vehicle specialist, handled the sale of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Rogelio Choy, CEO of the dealership, expressed his excitement at the completion of the deal, noting the immense value the car holds for collectors and enthusiasts.

“We are thrilled to have facilitated the sale of this automotive masterpiece,” Choy remarked. “The McLaren Senna XP represents the absolute zenith of hypercar design and performance. It is a true marvel of engineering, and we are proud to be able to connect such an exclusive vehicle with a discerning collector.”

The McLaren Senna XP is renowned for its advanced carbon fibre construction, race-derived aerodynamics, and superior handling, all of which combine to create a driving experience that is, as described by motoring journalist Jeremy Clarkson, “like driving using nothing but telepathy.” Top Gear, too, has praised the car, calling it “a stunning achievement in automotive design.”

This sale underscores the continuing desire for ultra-rare and bespoke vehicles, particularly in the high-end supercar market, where collectors are willing to pay a premium for exclusivity and technological innovation. The McLaren Senna XP, with its legendary status and unique provenance, certainly fits that bill.

SBX Cars has long been regarded as a leading name in sourcing and selling high-end automobiles. The company is renowned for its ability to procure some of the most exclusive vehicles in the world, with clients who demand only the best in terms of performance, design, and scarcity.

For those interested in exploring further rare automobiles, SBX Cars continues to offer a selection of high-performance vehicles. Additional information can be found on their official website: sbxcars.com.
