Reconomy, a leading international specialist in the circular economy, has announced the creation of a new Change and Transformation function to support the company’s next phase of growth. This strategic initiative is aimed at enhancing the company’s ability to operate as a cohesive international business, combining global scale with the expertise of its local specialists.
The newly established function will focus on three key areas: overseeing the delivery of transformation projects across the organisation, developing an improved framework for integrating acquisitions, and standardising technologies, platforms, and processes across support functions such as finance, technology, and human resources.
This central operating model is designed to unify Reconomy’s various brands, fostering greater collaboration and interconnectedness within the company. By enhancing consistency in change management programmes and building internal intellectual capital, the new function will play a crucial role in steering the future direction of the business. The goal is to maximise the value of the company’s diverse brands, allowing them to leverage their deep local knowledge while benefiting from the resources of the international group.
James Skeet, who has been appointed as Director of Group Change and Transformation, will lead this new function. Skeet previously established a successful Project Management Office within Reconomy’s Technology function, positioning him well to spearhead this strategic initiative.
Reconomy’s rapid growth in recent years has been driven by a combination of organic expansion and a series of acquisitions. The company has built a world-class, tech-enabled, and people-powered platform, solidifying its position as a market leader in the circular economy. In 2023 alone, Reconomy completed five acquisitions, followed by four more this year, expanding its global footprint to over 80 countries. The company now boasts more than 4,000 employees and serves over 10,000 international customers across a wide range of industries.
