JK Lifting, the North East-based lifting and testing specialist, has invested £150,000 in a new state-of-the-art facility to support its ongoing expansion and increasing client demand. The move to larger premises at Lift Point House on Killingworth’s Camperdown Industrial Estate marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth plans.
The investment includes the installation of a new overhead crane with a lifting capacity of up to 10 tonnes, allowing the business to enhance its inspection and compliance operations. This move will enable JK Lifting to better serve its clients across a range of sectors, including offshore, renewables, manufacturing, and construction.
James Bright, managing director of JK Lifting, said: “The move to Lift Point House is a major turning point for our business. It gives us the facilities we need to expand our operations, particularly in inspections and compliance, and positions us well for further growth.”
As part of its long-term strategy, JK Lifting aims to achieve a £10 million turnover by 2030. The company is also planning to make several new hires in the engineering and operations divisions to support its expanded capabilities.
With over 40 years of experience, JK Lifting is renowned for its engineering expertise and innovative solutions. In recent months, the company has secured key contract wins in offshore, marine, renewable energy, construction, and manufacturing sectors. Notable clients include Equinor, for the world’s largest offshore wind farm, Dogger Bank, as well as Helix, PFC Marine, and The Port of Blyth.
Founded in 1983 by John Kesson, JK Lifting was acquired by James Bright in 2019. Since then, the company has continued to grow, with the launch of a specialist marine base at the Port of Blyth in 2022.
