Zendbox, an eCommerce fulfilment company based in Kent, has achieved a remarkable 300% growth in the last year, expanding from a workforce of 20 to 80 employees and increasing its fulfilment centres from one to four state-of-the-art facilities. The company’s industry-leading 10pm cut-off time, eco-friendly practices, and advanced inventory management technology give direct-to-consumer (D2C) merchants the tools they need to compete with “eCommerce Goliaths.”
Zendbox provides order fulfilment services for fast-growing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as renowned brands such as PRIME, USN, Puresport, and fourfive. In 2023, the company processed over three million orders, integrating sales platforms like Shopify, eBay, and Amazon with its proprietary technology, Zendportal. This platform offers virtual warehousing, inventory management, and analysis, enabling retailers to streamline their business operations and improve visibility across their supply chains.
James Khoury, CEO and founder of Zendbox, commented: “Amazon’s dominance over the eCommerce market is almost scary. 44% of all product searches, in fact, start with Amazon. While our clients sell on Amazon, they also face strong D2C competition from them. We are proud to be the third-party logistics provider of choice, for retail Davids wanting to take on the Goliaths of eCommerce.”
Khoury pointed out that the global eCommerce fulfilment market is projected to nearly triple by 2030. He explained: “Scaling our operations is crucial for us to take advantage of the expanding market. For our clients, investing in technology and efficiency is essential to speeding up order processing, enhancing customer experiences, and reducing costs.”
He continued: “We store over 100,000 different fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) across our world-class fulfilment centres, covering a total of 500,000 square feet. With our technology-driven approach, we maintain 99.999% picking accuracy, and 99.7% of orders are processed and shipped the same day, thanks to our new 10pm cut-off time. This allows SMEs and established brands to rival Amazon by offering next-day delivery until late at night.”
Rob Whitfield, founder of Complete Strength, credited Zendbox’s 10pm cut-off time for helping his business attract new customers, saying: “The majority of our orders come in the evening. When we had an earlier cut-off time, we missed out on sales. Now we’ve got a later cut-off time with Zendbox, we get fewer abandoned carts. We have also noticed customers are shopping with us simply because of the later cut-off time.”
