Altair, a global leader in computational intelligence, and Oasys, the software arm of renowned design consultancy Arup, have announced a significant collaboration aimed at advancing safety simulation modelling in the automotive sector. The joint development agreement will merge the capabilities of Altair’s HyperWorks platform with Oasys PRIMER, providing engineers with a seamless and integrated solution for crash safety analysis.

The partnership will allow automotive engineers to access a unified workflow within the Altair HyperWorks environment, integrating Oasys PRIMER’s industry-leading crash simulation tools. This collaboration promises to streamline the preparation and modification of safety analysis models, enabling users to harness the full power of both platforms for enhanced simulation accuracy and efficiency.

James R. Scapa, founder and CEO of Altair, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to team up with Oasys, whose pedigree and strong market presence in crash simulation has long been admired. The combination of the power of Altair HyperWorks and Oasys PRIMER will provide customers with an advanced solution for safety modelling.”

Oasys, part of the Arup group, is globally recognised for its contributions to sustainable development through cutting-edge design and consultancy. Peter Young, Director of Oasys, also shared his optimism about the partnership, saying, “Altair is a leader in the automotive simulation sector, and we look forward to seeing what our customers will achieve with this new solution. The Oasys Suite provides best-in-class tools to accelerate and advance crash simulations, and this collaboration with Altair will catapult our joint offering.”

The integrated solution will be powered by Altair HyperWorks’ AI-augmented 3D modelling and visualisation tools, along with its next-generation design and optimisation workflows. These tools enable users to manage large and complex models effortlessly, uncover critical insights, optimise designs, and drive innovation across the automotive sector. Meanwhile, the Oasys Suite, renowned for its pre- and post-processing software, will support users in analysing, building, and sharing quality models and results with confidence.

This collaboration is set to benefit automotive engineers and designers worldwide, providing them with a comprehensive toolkit to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of safety simulations. By combining the strengths of both platforms, the partnership aims to push the boundaries of what is possible in automotive safety modelling, offering a solution that is both advanced and user-friendly.
