Geely Auto has announced a significant milestone for 2024, with its annual sales reaching 2.17 million units, marking a 32% increase year-on-year. The company’s international business performed exceptionally well, posting a record high of 403,923 units exported—up 53% from last year’s results.

The impressive growth follows Geely’s strategic global expansion, which saw the company extend its reach to over 80 countries and regions, entering more than 10 new markets. Geely has also reinforced its existing presence in regions such as the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Latin America, solidifying its position as a major player in the global automotive industry. Additionally, the company introduced 16 new vehicle models across more than 40 countries, underscoring its commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles tailored to the diverse needs of consumers around the world.

Strengthening Global Footprint

Geely Auto’s efforts to strengthen its global presence have been reflected in its expanded sales and service network, which now spans approximately 900 locations—a 69% increase from the end of 2023. The company has also made significant strides in enhancing its regional operations, with the construction of two new factories in Asia and Africa. Furthermore, Geely has launched four new subsidiaries in Indonesia, Australia, the Philippines, and Chile, further enhancing its local market access and operational capabilities.

The company’s expansion is supported by a state-of-the-art global parts network, featuring a central hub and five strategically located overseas facilities, which are designed to optimise the supply chain and improve efficiency.

Key Models Driving Sales Growth

Geely Auto’s flagship models have been instrumental in driving its sales growth. The Coolray, for example, reached an impressive milestone of 1 million units sold and is now present in 51 countries. It continues to rank among the top three in its segment in six key markets. Meanwhile, the Monjaro has seen exports surge by 150% year-on-year, highlighting the strong demand for its luxurious design and powerful performance. The Emgrand, another popular model, continues to dominate the A-sedan segment, ranking in the top three in nine key markets. The Geely EX5 has garnered global attention, with appearances at major international automotive events such as Automechanika Frankfurt and the Hong Kong IMXPO.

Building a Global User Experience

In 2024, the number of Geely users surpassed 16 million, a testament to the brand’s success in creating a loyal customer base. Geely has maintained its focus on product innovation and operational excellence, tailoring its vehicles to meet the specific needs of different markets. As part of its ‘multi-energy’ strategy, the company continues to offer a diverse range of vehicles, including internal combustion engine (ICE) models, hybrids, electric vehicles, and even methanol-powered options.

Commitment to ESG Leadership

Geely Auto’s success is also driven by its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. The company has initiated a number of charity projects across Europe, welfare initiatives in Latin America, and vehicle recycling programmes in Africa. These efforts demonstrate Geely’s dedication to making a positive impact in communities around the world.

Looking ahead to 2025, Geely aims to reach an even more ambitious sales target of 2.71 million units, while continuing to refine its global operating system, product strategy, and aftersales services. With these goals in sight, Geely Auto is poised for further success in the global automotive market.
