Leading refrigerated vehicle supplier Petit Forestier has announced a significant new partnership with Mawdsleys, a prominent UK pharmaceutical distributor. This collaboration marks an expansion of Petit Forestier’s footprint in the pharmaceutical sector, as the company is set to supply 69 refrigerated vehicles to Mawdsleys over a three-year period.

Mawdsleys, the UK’s largest independent pharmaceutical distributor, has been operating for nearly 200 years, providing essential medicines to hospitals and healthcare providers nationwide. The new agreement reinforces Mawdsleys’ commitment to delivering a reliable and consistent service to its customers, which is crucial in the healthcare sector.

Emma Dutton, Senior Marketing Manager at Mawdsleys, emphasised the importance of refrigerated vehicles in their operations. She stated, “Due to the nature of our sector and our products, refrigerated vehicles play such a crucial role in ensuring we can deliver our products on time and in full. This is why working with a dependable cold chain logistics partner is so important to us.”

Dutton noted that Petit Forestier’s extensive network of depots and 24/7 roadside assistance makes them an ideal partner for maintaining the operational efficiency of their refrigerated fleet. The 69-vehicle fleet includes a mix of fully liveried panel vans and box vans from leading brands such as Ford and Mercedes, ensuring that Mawdsleys can uphold its high service levels.

Craig Welborn, Head of National Accounts at Petit Forestier, expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership, stating, “We couldn’t be happier to be partnering with Mawdsleys in this deal. Like us, they have a long and reputable history, and we look forward to working with them over the next three years.”

Welborn highlighted the significance of this development in the pharmaceutical sector for Petit Forestier. “Our expertise in the cold chain sector has allowed us to expand our service offering into a new industry,” he explained. “This partnership is an exciting opportunity for us to apply our skills in cold chain logistics to support the vital work of Mawdsleys.”

The deal also showcases Petit Forestier’s strategic growth in the UK pharmaceutical market, demonstrating their ability to adapt to the specific needs of the healthcare sector. The company’s commitment to maintaining high service levels, combined with its robust depot coverage, provides a competitive advantage in quickly getting customer vehicles back on the road.

This partnership reflects a growing trend within the logistics industry, where reliability and speed are paramount, especially in sectors like pharmaceuticals, where timely delivery can be a matter of life and death. As Petit Forestier continues to expand its reach, it aims to enhance its reputation as a leading cold chain logistics provider, ensuring that vital medicines reach those who need them.

Overall, the partnership with Mawdsleys is set to bolster both companies’ positions in the pharmaceutical sector, allowing them to better serve the healthcare community across the UK. The collaboration signifies not only a business agreement but also a shared commitment to improving healthcare logistics in a challenging environment.
