ZF unveils service concept for new e-bike drive system

Automotive supplier ZF has unveiled a new service and training concept for its latest e-bike drive system, designed to minimise maintenance and simplify repairs for manufacturers, dealers, and riders.

The ZF Bike Eco System, which features the CentriX drive unit, promises a plug-and-play approach to component upgrades and a streamlined service process. The company aims to make servicing and retrofitting as straightforward as possible while ensuring rapid replacement parts delivery.

Easy servicing and retrofitting

ZF has focused on designing a system that is not only high-quality and durable but also easy to maintain. The CentriX drive unit, the core of the Bike Eco System, can be removed and replaced in just a few minutes. Additional components, such as displays, remotes, or lights, can be easily retrofitted thanks to a modular plug-and-play design.

With this system, ZF hopes to reduce the burden on dealers and workshop staff while giving end users a hassle-free experience when upgrading their e-bikes.

Training and support for dealers

In 2025, ZF will launch on-site training courses for e-bike dealers across Europe. These sessions will provide practical knowledge on product servicing, component integration, and overall system management. Registered dealers can access training schedules and sign up through the ZF Dealer Service Portal.

In addition to in-person training, the portal will host a library of service and training videos. These will cover common maintenance tasks and troubleshooting steps, allowing workshop staff to learn at their own pace. Sales teams will also have access to product overviews and demonstrations of new features.

Fast and reliable spare parts delivery

The ZF Bike Eco System is designed to require minimal maintenance, but when replacement parts are needed, ZF is promising a fast and efficient delivery service. Dealers who place orders before midday will receive same-day shipping, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.

For any additional queries, dealers will have direct access to ZF service experts, providing personalised support for troubleshooting and system maintenance.

A step forward for the e-bike market

ZF’s new service and training strategy highlights the growing demand for user-friendly e-bike solutions. As the market continues to expand, ensuring easy maintenance and seamless integration of new components will be crucial for both dealers and riders.

By prioritising efficiency and ease of use, ZF aims to set a new standard in e-bike servicing, offering a smoother experience for businesses and cyclists alike.
