Autobrains Unveils Skills AI Line to Advance Autonomous Driving

Autobrains, a leader in automotive artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), has announced the launch of its latest innovation – the Skills product line, powered by its proprietary Liquid AI technology. This new system marks a major step forward in the development of autonomous driving, providing a flexible, modular approach to AI that addresses the challenges of current technologies while significantly improving efficiency and scalability.

The Skills product line is designed to handle the complexities of modern driving by breaking down AI tasks into specialised models, each optimised for specific scenarios. These models, or “Skills”, are activated only when needed, allowing the system to adjust dynamically to changing situations and significantly reduce computational demands compared to existing systems. This marks a departure from traditional AI models, which typically rely on either a single large neural network or multiple complex, resource-intensive modules.

Igal Raichelgauz, Founder and CEO of Autobrains, said: “Our Skills product line represents a paradigm shift in autonomous driving. With this flexible, scalable AI solution, we can start with ADAS applications and build up incrementally towards full autonomy. The adaptability of our system ensures that as new driving scenarios arise, the resources required grow logarithmically, rather than exponentially.”

The challenge of handling edge cases—those rare or difficult scenarios that autonomous systems struggle with—has long been a major obstacle to full autonomy. Current AI architectures, such as Mobileye’s modular approach and Tesla’s end-to-end Full Self-Driving system, each face limitations. Mobileye’s system can create bottlenecks due to its reliance on separate modules, while Tesla’s approach suffers from issues related to transparency and adaptability.

Autobrains’ Skills architecture addresses these shortcomings by creating smaller, independent AI models for each driving context. These Skills are activated only when a specific scenario arises, which not only optimises system performance but also reduces power consumption.

This efficiency is further enhanced by the system’s ability to scale. For ADAS applications, tens of Skills may be required, while full autonomy could demand hundreds of thousands. However, because the system’s resource requirements grow logarithmically, Autobrains’ Skills solution offers a more efficient pathway to full autonomy than existing AI models.

Among the key advantages of the Skills product line are its adaptability to edge cases and the safety improvements it offers. By focusing on specific driving scenarios, Skills can deliver targeted, precise responses, thereby enhancing overall system safety.

Autobrains is currently working with several major automotive manufacturers around the world to test and implement the Skills system. This collaboration is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of autonomous driving, with the new architecture poised to reduce costs, improve safety, and drive the development of smarter, more efficient vehicles.

As the automotive industry pushes towards full autonomy, Autobrains’ Skills product line offers a unique, scalable solution that could lead the way for next-generation driving technologies. For more information about Autobrains and its Skills technology, please visit www.autobrains.ai.
